The Protek Nano project achieved a major milestone event today when we were notified of grant funding approval via the WA State Government’s Local Capability Fund – PPE Manufacturing Round.
The project aims to manufacture N95 level face masks from our factory in Malaga, Western Australia.
The face masks will incorporate next generation virus killing nano technology designed to both trap and kill airborne viruses, including Covid-19.
The underlying nanofiber technology has already been certified in the USA to be 99.84% effective at killing the SARS-Cov-2 virus. We will recertify the masks in Australia before production commences.
The LCF grant will facilitate the acquisition of the initial production equipment requirements and the certification of the technology and manufacturing systems.
Due diligence was completed by Ernst & Young prior to the project being approved for funding.
We are excited to finally get this project moving!
